Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Delexo ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what Beats collects, stores, and does with information when you use the desktop app.
1. Summary
Beats is a local-first application. It runs on your PC and keeps your music on your disk. We do not operate a Beats account system, cloud library, or analytics service tied to your identity.
2. Information stored on your device
Beats may store the following on your computer:
- Application settings (volume, window layout, preferences) in
%APPDATA%\Beats\settings.json - Liked songs and saved collections as local JSON files
- Playlist folders you create under your Music directory
- Cached album artwork in
%APPDATA%\Beats\artwork\ - Download tools (yt-dlp, ffmpeg, spotDL) in
%APPDATA%\Beats\tools\ - Optional crash logs in
%APPDATA%\Beats\if the app encounters an error
We do not automatically upload this data to Delexo servers.
3. Information we do not collect
When you use Beats, we do not require:
- Your name, email address, or phone number;
- Payment information (Beats is free);
- A Beats login or registration.
The installer does not send us personal data when you download or install Beats from our website or GitHub.
4. Network activity
Beats may connect to the internet when you:
- Download audio from a URL you provide;
- Fetch album artwork or metadata for local files;
- Download or update yt-dlp, ffmpeg, or spotDL on first use;
- Open help links in your browser to our website or GitHub.
Those requests go directly from your PC to the relevant services (for example, YouTube or Spotify via third-party tools). We do not receive the contents of your downloads.
If you configure a YouTube cookies file, it stays on your device and is used only by yt-dlp during downloads you initiate. We do not receive that file.
5. Third-party services
Beats is not affiliated with YouTube, Spotify, TikTok, SoundCloud, or any other platform. When you use the download feature, third-party tools and remote services may process URLs and network data according to their own policies. You are responsible for reviewing those policies.
6. Children
Beats is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Data retention and deletion
All Beats data lives on your machine. You can delete it at any time by removing folders under %APPDATA%\Beats\ and your playlist directories. Uninstalling Beats does not automatically delete your music or settings.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. The current version is always available on this page and in your installation folder at Legal\privacy.txt.
